Obama advisers to nervous Dems: What do you mean Obama’s not focused on the economy?

After all, he did spend 15 minutes talking about the economy before golf…
Last November, Obama announced that he would turn his attention to unemployment, calling it “one of the great challenges that remains in our economy.” He declared the same intent two months later, telling House Democrats he would focus relentlessly on job creation “over the next several months.” Senior aides went on television pledging that the mantra would become “jobs, jobs, jobs.”
But other matters – health care, the BP oil spill – continually stole the limelight, creating the impression, ...

Gibbs: Obama knew the surge would work, but voted against it anyway

It’s hard to believe, but White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs actually said that then-Senator Obama knew that the surge would improve conditions in Iraq. If that was true, why did Obama vote against the surge and routinely speak out against it?

GRETCHEN CARLSON, CO-HOST, “FOX & FRIENDS”: Will President Obama recognize the success of the surge put in place by President Bush tonight?
ROBERT GIBBS, WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY: There’s no doubt that first and foremost, that the men and women in ...

Just a reminder: Democrats could not have been more wrong on Iraq surge

Next Tuesday night, President Obama will address the nation about the draw-down of combat forces in Iraq. In order to remind the American people of just where Democrat leaders stood throughout the war, Minority Leader Boehner released the following video which blasts Obama, Pelosi and Reid for their opposition to the troop surge, which allowed the United States to succeed in Iraq. How much of President Obama’s speech do you think will be dedicated to how wrong he was when he opposed the Iraq surge?

Rep. John Boehner:
While President ...

Harry Reid continues to hide from the press

For all the talk we hear about Sharron Angle only doing “friendly” interviews, it sure looks like Harry Reid is flat out hiding from the press. What’s wrong, Harry, are you afraid of what the people of Mesquite have to say about your tenure as Majority Leader? Odd that Senator Reid would make the trip from Las Vegas just to meet with local Democrats. Are the people of Mesquite not good enough for a campaign stop, or perhaps the Reid campaign was worried about a protest.

Obama politically toxic… in Illinois

Earlier this year President Obama predicted that 2010 would not be like the historic 1994 election because Democrats had him. Obama was betting that his personal popularity would bail Democrats out in a tough election cycle. Well, according to voters in his home state, this is definitely not the case.
Illinois voters say they would be negatively influenced if a candidate was endorsed by Barack Obama. And if his support isn’t an asset in his home state it’s hard to imagine where it is.
40% of voters in the state say ...

VIDEO: Which party is extreme?

While the Democrats insist that the Republicans are extreme and the out-of-touch, facts just couldn’t be more opposite. In the NRSC’s latest video, they attack that fallacy head on. Definitely worth the watch.

Professor Jacobson over at Le·gal In·sur·rec·tion has found the video of Harry Reid speaking out against birthright citizenship in 1993. How could anyone of Hispanic heritage vote for Harry Reid?

How could anyone of Hispanic heritage vote for Harry Reid?

Earlier this week, Senator Harry Reid caused a media firestorm when he said that he didn’t know how anyone of Hispanic heritage could vote for a Republican. Perhaps the better question is how could anyone of Hispanic heritage vote for Harry Reid? When a few Republicans said they would like to clarify the 14th Amendment’s Birthright Clause, Harry Reid said that they had “either taken leave of their senses or their principles.” Wow, that’s harsh. Perhaps the Senator’s rhetoric would be more powerful if he had not supported a ...
