It’s hard to believe, but White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs actually said that then-Senator Obama knew that the surge would improve conditions in Iraq. If that was true, why did Obama vote against the surge and routinely speak out against it?

Next Tuesday night, President Obama will address the nation about the draw-down of combat forces in Iraq. In order to remind the American people of just where Democrat leaders stood throughout the war, Minority Leader Boehner released the following video which blasts Obama, Pelosi and Reid for their opposition to the troop surge, which allowed the United States to succeed in Iraq. For all the talk we hear about Sharron Angle only doing “friendly” interviews, it sure looks like Harry Reid is flat out hiding from the press. What’s wrong, Harry, are you afraid of what the people of Mesquite have to say about your tenure as Majority Leader? Odd that Senator Reid would make the trip from Las Vegas just to meet with local Democrats. Are the people of Mesquite not good enough for a campaign stop, or perhaps the Reid campaign was worried about a protest.

Earlier this year President Obama predicted that 2010 would not be like the historic 1994 election because Democrats had him. Obama was betting that his personal popularity would bail Democrats out in a tough election cycle. Well, according to voters in his home state, this is definitely not the case.

While the Democrats insist that the Republicans are extreme and the out-of-touch, facts just couldn’t be more opposite.  In the NRSC’s latest video, they attack that fallacy head on.  Definitely worth the watch.

Earlier this week, Senator Harry Reid caused a media firestorm when he said that he didn’t know how anyone of Hispanic heritage could vote for a Republican. Perhaps the better question is how could anyone of Hispanic heritage vote for Harry Reid? When a few Republicans said they would like to clarify the 14th Amendment’s Birthright Clause, Harry Reid said that they had “either taken leave of their senses or their principles.”
