Pelosi: Obamacare will prevent artists from having to worry about keeping a job

Awesome! This is exactly what an economy with unemployment hovering around 10 percent needs: people who aren’t concerned with finding employment.

So, you can‘t—everybody has so much to gain from this, small businesses, as I said, seniors, young people, women, our economy. Think of an economy where people could be an artist or a photographer or a writer without worrying about keeping their day job in order to have health insurance or that people could start a business and be entrepreneurial and take risk, but not job loss because of a child with asthma or someone in the family is bipolar—you name it, any condition—is job locking.

Only someone with such superior wit as Nancy Pelosi could justify raising taxes in a recession to enable the struggling artist from finding gainful employment. Furthermore, how does the struggling artist afford the individual mandate requiring them to purchase insurance (at the risk of fines and possibly jail time) if they are unemployed? Perhaps Nancy needs to rethink her argument.
